Meet Beck

Are you looking for a supportive and collaborative environment to talk through issues, better understand feelings, and develop effective coping strategies?

Hello! My name is Beck, and I am a dedicated and empathetic individual working towards becoming a Registered Social Worker. I am committed to principles of equity, anti-oppressive practice, intersectional feminism, and neurodivergent-affirming approaches. In my practice, I am devoted to creating a safe, non-judgemental, and cooperative environment for individuals, couples, and members of polyamorous constellations. I strive to foster a therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered to direct their own care. I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I am here to offer guidance and support as you navigate life’s challenges.

I am passionate about helping people cultivate healthy and fulfilling emotional, romantic, sexual, financial, and familial lives, whatever that looks like for you. I particularly enjoy working with individuals, couples, and members of polyamorous constellations who are experiencing difficulties with intimacy, communication, and life changes, as well as general anxiety and stress. I have both professional and lived experience in supporting individuals as they navigate the effects of homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia, explore their sexuality and gender, and work through how these experiences impact their relationships. In my practice I integrate various therapeutic approaches, with a focus on the Gottman Method (Level 1) and Narrative Therapy.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto where I am specializing in mental and physical health. I am pleased to be completing my practicum experience with The Couple Wellness Experts and am under the direct supervision of Melissa Johari, MSW, RSW. I completed a Honors Bachelor of Arts in Sexual Diversity Studies, Critical Studies in Equity and Solidarity, and Women and Gender Studies. I have a background as a peer support worker for 2SLGBTQ+ youth, working with individuals with disabilities, and facilitating intimacy direction workshops.

If you are currently experiencing difficulties and seeking support, I invite you to reach out. I am happy to answer any questions, and I look forward to the possibility of working together on your path to wellness! Whether you are navigating communication issues, intimacy concerns, or other relational challenges, I am here to help you build a stronger, healthier connection with yourself and others.
