Melissa was on Global News!

A new study published in the Journal of Families, Systems and Health shows that married men were 25% more likely to be overweight or obese than men in committed relationships or single men.  Being more relaxed and secure in a marriage may relate to a bigger waist-line, BUT there are more benefits of marriage that make up for that. People in a good marriage live longer, have less stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, have greater financial well being, great job security, and better mental, emotional and physical health.  The better the quality of the relationship, the greater these effects are. Conflict in a marriage undermines these benefits.  Therefore, it is best to work on a happy marriage for the betterment of your health and well-being. See my segment on Global News on January 17, 2014 about my response to this new research study: http://globalnews.ca/video/1090974/men-are-25-per-cent-more-likely-to-be-overweight-after-marriage-study They did a good job on this segment.  Only correction is that I am not at Leaside Therapy Centre anymore.  I have the one location at Bloor Street West now instead of the two locations.  Other than that, it looks fantastic.  Global News was great to work with.  Thanks go to Alexandra (reporter) and Don (videographer) who came to my office and did the interview/filming.
